Regardless of what anyone tells you, food intolerances are not the cause of your skin breakouts. When you understand how the psyche, nervous system, brain and organs work together in order to help us adapt and survive, you begin to have a much better understanding of exactly why your symptoms are occurring.
In the holistic health and Naturopathic industries, you’ll often hear that food intolerances and imbalanced hormones are to blame for all skin conditions, especially acne and eczema.
While it is common that when eating certain foods, your skin might get a few breakouts afterwards, it’s not the food itself that is causing the reaction – there’s so much more to the story.
My Own Story of Food Intolerances:
Back in 2017, I had a bunch of food intolerances, seasonal allergies, and animal allergies.
My sensitivities included gluten, corn, and dairy and I had an allergy to soy. My symptoms, when I’d eat these foods, were acne breakouts, itchy rashes, major bloating and digestive upsets and sometimes even joint pain.
I tried every elimination diet out there.
I avoided a long list of foods.
I tried multiple cleanses.
I tried gut healing protocols and supplements.
I feared almost every food that I ate because I feared the reactions that would come with them.
I got to a point where I hated grocery shopping and cooking, because I literally had no clue what to eat and what not to eat.
But then I learned about how our bodies arehard-wired for survival, and as I started to understand the adaptive biological programs that occur within the body, and why they occur, I came to realize that my food intolerances were not the root causes of my symptoms at all, and that the food intolerances themselves, were also a symptom of a deeper issue. They were, what in tracks (more on this below), which had been programmed into my subconscious mind from a previous experience when my psyche and nervous system felt unsafe.
Once I realized this, I started working on the real root causes of my symptoms and healed the subconscious tracks that were causing all of my food intolerances and my allergies.
Today, I’m free of all of my food intolerances and allergies and I can eat any food that I want to without any sort of reaction whatsoever. I’ve also managed to ditch my seasonal allergies, my animal allergies and can even feed our guinea pigs their hay now, which at one point, I was severely “allergic” to at one point.
When we avoid foods that we’re reacting to, we’re not solving the root problem of the symptoms, we’re simply just avoiding the root cause and creating more fear and lack of safety within the nervous system surrounding our symptoms. This causes even more symptoms and chronic conditions in the long-run.
When we resolve the subconscious tracks that are causing our symptoms, we no longer need to live in fear of food or our symptoms.

What Are Tracks and How Do They Cause “Food Intolerances?”
The human body is hard-wired for survival. We understand that all symptoms/diseases begin with an unexpected, unanticipated shock or stressful event (1st Biological Law of Nature). At this time, the psyche sends a message to the brain, which will activate a biological program in the body in order to protect us, and help us survive the conflict.
At the time of any shock (an unexpected, unanticipated stressful/distressing situation), our psyche takes note of our environment, and everything connected to our senses in that moment. Anything around us that is connected to our senses (sight, smell, taste, hearing, feeling) at the time of this shock may now be associated as a “perceived danger or threat”, and can become tracks.
Let’s look at an example…
A girl is eating a piece of toast at the kitchen table. Her dad comes home from work and starts yelling at her because she left the garage door open. He had a bad day and his level of anger is completely unnecessary and unfair. This situation is stressful, was unexpected, and her psyche perceives it as an “attack conflict”. Two days later, a pimple appears on her forehead.
A week later, she bites into a piece of toast, and her psyche moves into high alert… the last time she ate bread (remember the toast she was eating when dad yelled at her) “danger” occurred, so her psyche signals her brain and the biological program of an attack conflict begins again just in case that same attack happens again while she’s eating toast.
Her nervous system now perceives the bread as unsafe, because it’s associating the bread with the attack conflict. Two days later, more pimples appear.
After awhile, the girl starts to notice that every time she eats gluten, new breakouts appear. She thinks she’s developed a gluten intolerance, so she unhappily starts avoiding gluten. If she was to get an allergy test, gluten would show up because her psyche perceives the gluten as a threat and is responding accordingly.
But her new “intolerance” is not actually an intolerance. Her body isn’t allergic to gluten. Her body is responding because of its association with a previous stressful situation.
Intolerances, sensitivities and allergies can be healed and is part of my work with clients work/help with clients. It’s really freeing when you can slowly begin eating foods again without fear or reactions.
